WHY 1-1 COACHING WORKS:
Coaching is an investment in you, your goals and your future with running and cycling. You do no need to be an elite athlete to need a coach; I coach beginners right up to elite level runners and cyclists and in my eyes you will be an athlete. I've never had an athlete fail to cross that marathon finish line or be so obliterated by cycling that they don't even want to think about cranking the pedals again.
In an era where we'll happily spend £450 on one pair of trainers, or £2500 on a disc wheel, but not invest in the actual training we need to be doing in order to maximize the 2% improvement on your 5km time of those trainers or aerodynamic benefit of that disc wheel, 1-1 coaching is going to provide a much better return on investment at way less of the cost.
Similarly if your relationship with running and cycling has been compromised due to injury, physio appointments, massages, etc will help you to get back on track, but once you've complete a course of 6 or so sessions and never move past the banded or bodyweight exercises that initially prescribed during your rehab, you're pretty much going to end up back at square one especially once your running/cycling volume and intensity increases.
